High Cholesterol Care Programme
For policyholders eligible under PRUPanel Connect, more value-added services are available.
How does the High Cholesterol Care Programme work?
High Cholesterol Care Programme (HCCP), also known as hyperlipidemia, is a chronic disease in which your blood contains an abnormally high amount of lipids. This accumulation can cause blockages in your blood vessels, increasing your risk of having a stroke or heart attack.
The HCCP is a 6-month programme that includes three consultations with a General Practitioner (GP). The programme covers standard medications and essential screening tests such as blood tests for kidney function, smoking cessation support (if applicable), and lifestyle counselling.
At Prudential Singapore, we aim to be your trusted partner in preventive healthcare by providing access to early intervention through Chronic Care Management.
How much does the High Cholesterol Care Programme cost?
Preventive Screening:
Lipid Test*, Blood Sugar Test*, Blood Pressure Test and Body Mass Index (BMI) Assessment
Payment : S$0.00 nett
A lipid test will be done, which involves a pinprick on the finger to extract drops of blood to test for your lipid level. If your lipid level appears to be elevated, you may decide to proceed with High cholesterol entry screening test.
Your blood pressure and blood sugar levels will also be taken. If the results exceed the normal range, you may then decide to proceed with the Hypertension Care Programme or Diabetes Care Programme.
High Cholesterol Entry Screening Test* (Lipid Panel)
Payment : S$10.00 nett
Should your lipid test result appear elevated, you will be offered a high cholesterol entry screening test. An upfront payment of S$10.00 nett is payable at the clinic.
The high cholesterol screening test is a blood test to provide a more detailed reading of your blood lipid profile. It consists of total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol.
Test result will be available at the same clinic within two working days (excluding public holidays and weekends). If your lipid level remains high, you will be offered to enrol in the 6-month High Cholesterol Care Programme.
Depending on the result of the high cholesterol test, a dedicated nurse under the Primary Care Network team will discuss the results with you and offer the HCCP accordingly. The cost of HCCP for Singapore citizens will not exceed S$100.00 nett. Raffles Medical Group will apply the relevant government subsidies (Healthier SG, Primary Care Network, etc.) before submitting the bill for Medisave assessment. Customers will only pay the balance after all subsidies and Medisave deductions have been made.
For Singapore Permanent Residents, do check with the clinic for the relevant subsidies. Foreigners do not receive any government subsidies, but the cost will not exceed S$300.00 nett. Please refer to the FAQs below for more details.

FAQs
How does Prudential’s High Cholesterol Care Programme (HCCP) work?
All PRUShield policyholders can book an appointment here to request for blood sugar test, blood pressure test, BMI assessment, and lipid test at any of the 37 Raffles Medical clinics in Singapore at no cost. It is mandatory to fast from midnight before the appointment date to yield more reliable results.
The lipid test involves a pinprick on the finger to extract a small drop of blood to measure your lipid level. Should your lipid test result appear elevated, you will be offered a high cholesterol entry screening test. This blood test provides a more detailed reading of your blood lipid profile. Test result will be available at the same clinic within two working days (excluding public holidays and weekends).
Depending on the result of the High Cholesterol screening test, a dedicated nurse under the Primary Care Network team will discuss the results with you and offer the HCCP accordingly.
The 6-month HCCP includes three GP consultations with standard medications and a primary care network team to track and guide your progress. During the three consultations a blood test for kidney assessment, smoking cessation support (if applicable) and a lifestyle counselling will be provided. The test results will be reviewed by the GP.
Each GP consultation will include a 2-month supply of standard medications. On the third GP consultation, you will be advised on future treatment options. A final 2-months' supply of standard medication will be provided to you, and this will conclude the 6-month HCCP.
If you have requested for the other tests and the results exceed the normal range, you may be offered the following:
- Diabetes Care Programme for high blood sugar level;
- Hypertension Care Programme for high blood pressure level; and
- Further follow-up GP sessions for high BMI level
Who is eligible for the High Cholesterol Care Programme (HCCP)?
The HCCP is offered to all PRUShield policyholders. PRUShield policyholders may submit an online appointment request for the Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, Lipid Test and BMI at any of the 37 Raffles Medical Group clinics once every calendar year.
If your Lipid Test results are elevated, you will be offered a High Cholesterol Entry Screening Test. Based on the outcome, a dedicated nurse under the Primary Care Network team will discuss the results with you and provide the HCCP recommendation.
Policyholders who have been previously diagnosed with Hyperlipidemia (i.e., High Cholesterol) and are undergoing treatment with a GP will not be eligible as they would already be on existing medication prescribed by their attending physician. The HCCP can only be utilised once and policyholders who have previously participated in HCCP will not be eligible to re-enrol.
Will Prudential have access to any of my medical reports obtained under the High Cholesterol Care Programme (HCCP)?
All medical information of policyholders obtained under the High Cholesterol Care Programme are confidential and Raffles Medical Group will not share the policyholder’s medical records or test reports with Prudential Singapore.
What happens if my blood pressure / body mass index (BMI) / blood sugar readings are high, but my Lipid Test is normal?
